Photographer’s Note
I have been thinking a great deal about going home recently. I have been living in Korea for two and half years now and have been back just once briefly. I have just 9 weeks left here but as my time left here gets shorter and shorter i can't help but think about all my friends and family and everything i have missed whilst living in South Korea. I guess I'm getting a little impatient!
Taken on my last trip home back in 2005.

Hey Peter,
I like the shot. Living in China I get the same feelings.
Only one person crossing on the wait signal not bad by Chinese standards.

Hi Peter
Very good message in your pic...impatience a very London thing I would say...

This is an inventive composition Peter, and everything fits together very well. I especially like the placement of the girl and the bus in the frame, whether it was down to luck or good timing doesn't matter.
Those buses are another thing you'll miss; the Routemasters have sadly been retired, as I'm sure you know.
Cheers,
Ben

There's nothing like home.. they say.
You need to go back home to rest your wings sometimes, and save up energy for another jouney. (But the sign says "WAIT" lol)
Good use of the sign, (and the banana peel), I like your photos taken in UK actually, you take them quite differently from your shots in Asia.

Hi Peter,
excellent moment, this composition is smart with this man and the big "Wait" !
The red bus is a good detail :)

Made me smile!
Reporter: What do I think of Western civilization?
Gandhiji: I think it would be a very good idea...
I often wonder what the streets would look like if they were not regularly maintained. People are really quite disgusting aren't they? The thing that annoyed me the most in India, was people dropping litter. They could at least drop it into a bush so it can biodegrade in peace. pfff...such are our fellow humans eh.
It must be weird coming back after so long. 7months in India - I thought I would be blue, but its nice to be back. I hope you do not have culture shock when you get back. Sounds like you are looking forward to it.
I am a little confused with the message Peter-Impatient? What because she pressed the button even when there is no traffic? sorry-excuse my dumbness. Ohhh, because she crosses when it says "wait?" Well, she would look a bit dumb waiting there if there were no cars as well :)
By the way, I have seen Born into Brothels. Agreed, its a very good documentary. The example has been used in many places around the world now by many other people. She has started expanded the project to Haiti, Jerusalem and Cairo. http://www.kids-with-cameras.org/home/

Hi Peter
Good technically and I know it sends a message. To me it is WAIT, why go home? there is a big world to explore. I know you will just be heading back for a visit. And I am sure you will experience a bit of reverse culture shock hahaha. I have been gone for 12 years now and I don't know what the hell I would do if I went home ;) Anyhow love the traditional big red double decker bus in the bg. Give me a shout if you still want to catch up tomorrow and check out that lens.

Who would not understand what you say? I get homesick a lot too... wishing for family and friends in the old world. Love the little humour added by that banana skin there, and the jaywalker who couldn't wait... an excellent, inventive shot of a powerful pov...
When are you going home?

Excellent POV, Peter, and the close focus on the 'wait'ing for green button is quite apt, the slippery banana peel tucked neatly away from where an unwary pedestrian might slip is a nice allusion to your being away from home in a foreign land which you must have made through well, and now is the wait for the flight back. The bokeh is nice. Good luck on your next step forward.

The advantage of being home, in an English speaking country is that you can use signs more easily...imagine this was in Korean...it wouldnt translate...but it works. Very nice. Im sure you will miss Korea, but you now have China to look forward to.
