Photographer’s Note
Tokyo was a place i always dreamed about when i was a kid. It was the place that was so far ahead of everywhere else. They had all the latest gadgets and of course computer games. It was this that I was truly fascinated as a child. Waiting with anticipation to see the new games consoles that Nintendo and Sega would release. It was a real experience to finally get to visit and it lived up to all my expectations.
It still is a world leader in electronics but maybe not to the same extent it was back in the '80s. But it was the way in which Tokyo has retained so much tradition that really pleased me and and i hope to be back in the near future.
I wonder where Japanese kids dream of visiting?

Hi, Peter.
Interesting photo with interesting, melancolic mood. You arrived to capture glance of the little boy...
There are some technical defects (overexposed parts and blue tones) but is not disturbing for me...
I like general atmosphere of this scene.
Best regards. Grazyna.

hello Peter,
I like the movement of the city and the people standing at their place, as if the world is moving fast and they don't follow at the same speed... I think it is an amazing city.

Hey Peter
Again with the interesting use of flash. You really singled this famil in the forground out. Interesting bg with the blur of motion. Good work.

I wonder how you took this one. Yeah, it reflects your thought quite well. Where is this society heading to, where do kids dream of visiting, Wandering people in a dreamy city, sounds like they aren't real thing, as well as how this photo looks like. They aren't real thing...! Our kids mostly dream of going to the US, it is the only foreign country they can think of..

Another great capture, Peter, did you pan and use flash? Very creative and well-controlled, the faces are in perfect definition... what I love about this is the coexistence of the urban speed with the human aspect, the curious, perhaps dreamy face of the people walking under the highrises of Tokyo...

hi peter,
tis one is good, this one has a soul, a soul that comprehends the soul of the city you photographed here...
just three men of different age...they look lost in this stream of faceless creatures...and that colourful ceiling protects them from any evil...
good one,
tc, j.

Facinating effect here, Peter, how you completely separate two distinct spaces, the "real" people moving about below and the floating neon dreams above. remarkable, frankly...
