Hi Natasha,
This is an attractive image, and a good composition with the small boats included in the canal. The reflections in the water add some good interest, but a pity about the "burnt out sky" area as it distracts from the beauty. I have been in Venice myself, and I too struggled with the high contrast between sunlight areas and shadows. Anyway a nice try.

Maybe the sky is a bit burnt but in my opinion it actually adds to this excellent picture rather than distracting from it: it strengthens the feel of the narrow alley/canal sheltered from the bright sunshine outside. (One small note: verticals aren't quite vertical - a little straightening would be good.)

I'm adding this to the "White skies" theme, hope you don't mind Natasha!

The reflection is excellent, Natasha, and really makes this shot work.
I like how the canal is so much wider than the narrow footpath - made for one.
Beautiful colours. Well seen.

Πολύ όμορφη και αντιπροσωπευτική φωτογραφία από τη Βενετία. Εξαιρετική σύνθεση και καδράρισμα. Το μόνο "πρόβλημα" είναι ο καμμένος ουρανός, αλλά αυτό είναι μια λεπτομέρεια μπροστά στο εξαιρετικό σύνολο. Συγχαρητήρια!

I hope next time i will travell to Venice! Your shot is well composed and with good contrast. Pity that the sky couldnt be more blue at that time!
