Photographer’s Note

Another shot taken in the New Forest, this time at sunset. I arrived early to be disappointed by the flat colours. Rather than pack up and go home, I decided to go for a wander through the nearby wood looking for alternative subjects to shoot. When I came upon a break in the trees I noticed some colour in the sky. That was it, I turned around and ran as fast as I could to get back to my tree. When I got there the sun was just dipping behind those far clouds and lighting the sky up beautifully. I grabbed my breath, set my tripod up and worked quickly to capture the ever changing colours. It was definitely worth the trip, and the run!

Just like a post card (I thought it was Africa at first)
I had no idée England had such nice sunsets
Great colors and great composition
The yellow shades are very good in the back

Very beautiful sunset with nice silhouettes. The color is amazing and composition is perfect.

Hi Adam. I cannot work out why this has only 6 points after being viewed more than 600 times. It is a superb image. Maybe people are tired of sunsets, but this is not one of those run-of-the-mill sunsets - it is a very artistic composition, technically excellent, and taking advatgae of a sky that I don't think you see very often in your part of the world.
