Photographer’s Note

This shot has a special meaning for my. That “REFUGIO” (refuge), was the place I found to pass the night in “Puente del Inca” (Bridge del Inca ), one of the last and lost stops for who goes by car to cross the border between Argentina and Chile throught the Andes, or serves of base for that they go to scale the Aconcágua, the highest point of all Americas. Actually, this refuge is an Hostel named "Vieja Estacion" (Old Station),an old Train Station, with its simplicity and the owner’s symphaty, represented for me the pure spirit of the adventure and knowledge among different peoples .When we lived to destination to Chile we gave a ride in our cars (that two that are seen stopped in front of the Hostel) a couple of Brazilian and a German that we had the pleasure to know there...
Beside all, an impressing place!

Nice soft colours you have captured here. The yellowish tinge and greenish-blue sky gives a great atmosphere to this photo. I really like the Refugio building and actually think it would have been better if you had been closer to it. As the foreground is a bit boring with the dirt for the bottom third of the frame.

Hi Joao, thanks for sharing this hidden place. I liked your composition although I think the colors are too saturated, but is interesting the contrast of the sky and the land.

nice colours and saturation you've given to this photo....maybe a bit too saturation but it helps give "strength" to the image....

The colortones are really the eyepuller to this deseted view enhanced by the empty frontplan to spot the Refugio at the foot of the hill, what a contrasting colors in the sky.

Interessante esse feito que você aplicou nessa foto, esquentou ela bastante e o céu ficou muito bonito, refúgios como esses costumam ser muito bons, ainda mais pra tomar uma "gelada" num calorão desse!

O pov e o céu estão espectaculares, dando muito dramatismo. Captou bem um certo ar de 'fim do mundo'. No entanto, acho que exagerou na saturação dos laranjas. De acordo que fica bem, mas talvez um pouco menos ficasse ainda melhor.

Amazing colors, Joao -- I've never seen a sky quite like this. However, it blends and contrasts nicely with the red dirt of the foreground and building, and the slope of the hill makes for great composition. Good sharpness and detail. Simple, tasteful frame. Well done.
