Photographer’s Note
Hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim can be challenging. This photo was taken at the beginning of a three day hike starting at the north rim where the temp was 37 degrees (the north rim is 8500 ft above sea level) at the top and around 100 degrees at the bottom by the Colorado River. Last time I went it was in July and it reached 120 degrees.

hallo Rudolph, what a beautiful place! For me there is something problematic about the image in that my eyes is wondering where to focus.. You have the hiker on the third with the sumbeam on the cliffs which is real striking, but the mountains in the background is also leading my eyes as it is not really a background but a focal point. Then there is the power-lines in the center of the image that is distracting me. But take it from an amateur who is learning! so I might be wrong.

Hi Rudolph,
I think it is time for me to have new glasses, because I can't see those power-lines mentioned by Wim (?)
I like very much your picture - the only way for me to know this kind of place, as beautiful as terrifying. If we slip, it is over! You are brave to go there! But reading your intro, I understood why you probably are not afraid of anything.
So, nice shot!
Excellent perspective and the man in the composition is a good size reference.
Congratulations,
Maria do Carmo
