A lion cub I saw at the Rhino and Lion Reserve just outside of Johannesburg yesterday...

Shot at 500mm (750mm on the D100) at f/8.

héhéhé, I suppose you wouldn't have used a macro lens..or even only a wide angle adjustment.. to do this one...

The colours of the "cat" match perfectly the background. This seems almost like a duotoned photograph.

A cute pose. and the f8 renders him nice and sharp! It also blurrs the BG nicely. Good to see the environment, and no hint of captivity.
Goos fur texture too.

The main appeal of this photo is the monochromatic composition. About the DOF, I wish it is a little bit deep as the other cub at the back seems to be floating. Anyway, it still is a good picture from you.

Excellent composition the front lion is PERFECT sharp, same is color - light and contrast, good blure bachground.

Just plain amazing, Henry, what a beautiful character study of the lion cub, with the sunlight really enhancing the detail and color tones in the fur to the very best. The cub in front also stands out nicely against the out-of-focus one lying in the back - another shot with the focus the other way around might be a perfect complement to this one ;-) Fantastic color setting and detail, great capture.
