Photographer’s Note

This is the pontoon bridge from island Tallisaari to castle Olavinlinna. This bridge is, again, in a boat route, so it must be openable.

The pontoon bridge was built on 1974 and it has been renewed few times during the years.

In old times, before any bridge between the island and castle, people were rowed over the strait with rowing boats. It was kind of scary because of the current of the strait and the rowers had to be both, skillful and strong to take people over safely.
