| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The wombat is native to Australia and grows to a length of 1m and weighs more than 40kg. He is a highly sociable animal and lives in groups. He feeds at night and eat grasses, leaves and roots of trees. They were a pest to farmers and so they were hunted. Their increased scarcity meant that they are now protected.
We were told that he is too heavy to walk around on his own and hence have to be moved around in a wheelbarrow to meet visitors.

Un cochon d'Inde géant! Impressionnat!
aaawww.... LOVE wombats!! The sad thing I find about your comments is that the Ballarat Wildlife Park haven:t taken proper care of Patrick, if he:s unable to move around himself... they could do with watching some of those shows where well-meaning owners over-indulge their pets!!!
Thanks for sharing :-)
I love WOMBATS!
