Photographer’s Note

Mount Fishtail is one of the few Himalayan mountains never to be climbed. Climbing it is prohibited. The peak overlooks the village of Pokhara in Nepal, where I spent a week back in 1983. All week I looked for the famous mountain, but cloud cover veiled its face. When I was finally waiting at the airport to leave the sun came out and that's when I got my first and last glimpse of the famous peak. Here is the result.

I tried another workshop, but cannot post ... yet ? I went to Pokhara in January, 2000. No clouds, but the most annoying thing was that the cooking fires & smoke would start right about the exact same time as the sunset was at its best.

Very nice Eva,
It's realy a great contrast, the green in the front, and the white mountain behind. Great composition, it's a very good job you did, well done

trés jolie photo. les nuages donnent une dimension fabuleuse à ce sommet d'école. la définition de la montagne. ce premier plan donne de la profondeur et nous renseigne sur l'habitat local. je pense que les couleursde premir plan sont un peu trop saturées.
cadrage vertical bien venu.

Very nicely photographed. I really like the elements here. The green ground, the great textures of the stonework around the building and the mountain making an appearance. All the clouds on the mountain are great and really add to that feel that it's just coming out from behind the clouds. Just to let you get one glimpse of it before you go. Nicely done.
