Photographer’s Note

The upper lake at Glendalough, Co. Wicklow. It's just south of Dublin and well worth visiting if you are in the area. A beautiful & historic location.

Anyway...this is just me getting used to me new camera - a great tool but with it comes a whole set of new challenges, shooting in RAW, converting the files to jpegs & getting the colour balance right. Even compared to the digital cameras I've owned before it's whole new ball game!

wonderfull picture of upper lake. It's really a nice place, very peaceful with a wonderfull view to Wicklow mountains.
thanks for sharing and good luck with your new camera ! (I think with the good weather last few day you can take wonderfull picture in Howth harbour !).

so you finally got your new toy, great stuff. It'll take a bit of getting used to but I hope you have many happy years with it. Lovely shot of the lake, the colours are bright and I like the perspective looking down the lake to where it narrows. A lovely view, well done.

Hi Peter,

never visitied this part of your country...i went straight to the west coast...Wicklow looked a bit too "soft" for my taste at that time...i wanted cliffs and lots of deep ocean;-)...your image is quite mellow...one can enjoy the view with this gentle rising hill slope on the right, i could imaging capturing this scene early in the morning, i wonder how it would come out...cheers, arturo

Nice landscape where I only miss a more powerful light and more sharpness.
