Chuao's girl Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this picture last week at the town of Chuao, a small village famous for its cacao plantations where some of the finest cocoa beans in the world are produced. It’s located in the northern coastal range of Venezuela.

The village is surrounded by mountains and dense rainforests in its south side, and by the Caribbean Sea on its northern side; there are no roads to access the site, thus I got there by small boat from the neighbouring Puerto Colombia.

This little girl was playing/bathing by herself in a detour of the main river, in front of her mother and a friend.
It called my attention that stare of the girl, she doesn’t turned a hair during the brief minutes we were there.

Handheld with Image Stabilizer (IS), at 11:40 am, good weather.
Increased contrast, resized for TE and sharpen.

Hello Jose Miguel,
I'm glad you took the time to upload a second picture today:D This one is very different from the first one. The contrasts are terrific, it gives her eyes such an intense look. She looks so serious for a little girl.
My deception, you stood high in front of her instead of folding your knees and get down to her height. However, maybe you would not have gotten such an intense look by getting down...I don't know.

Bonjour Jose Miguel,
un joli portrait avec de belles qualités photographiques dont cette belle netteté et ces contrastes qui servent bien le sujet. Ce dernier apparaît au naturel, ce qui est idéal, et ses yeux vont directement vers ceux du spectateur et on se sent concerné par ce regard.

Hi Jose, hmm yes i love this one, so remote place as you depict how to go there in your note, a pleasure youshare it with us.
For sure this cacao may be a very good one considering the perfect place ie rainy and heat.
Your portrait here is beautiful, from a high POV, your heigh on this little girl that has a beautiful glance at your cam. Love also her hair ;)

Hi Jose Miguel,

A still better second post in my eyes than the first, even if it is in another style. The quality of this photograph is very good but it is especially the attitude of this small girl who is fabulous.
A portrait full with emotions and then special mention for its haircut.

I add you to my list of anglophone members because the quality of the first two photographs and your criticisms are very good.
