Photographer’s Note

It is a bit bloody, controversial and annoying. I know. But it shows a part of the life in Iran. These are the chopped heads of sheep. People buy it, clean it and cook it. It is one of the most famous foodstuffs in Iran. They call it Kalleh, means head. It is served for breakfast. Early in dawn people gather in the Kalleh cooking shops and eat as much as they can. They love it. As you see the background there are plenty of other parts of the sheep body on sale. The legs are also on sale. They call it Pacheh. Kalleh @ Pacheh is the full name of the food. Nowadays you can buy it canned in the supermarkets. If you want to put on some cholesterol and a lot of fat, try it.
