[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
En la actualidad es una pedanía del cercano municipio de Villamiel, en la Sierra de Gata.
Declarado de interés Turístico, Trevejo es un apacible lugar donde se observa una admirable arquitectura popular típicamente serrana, con construcciones de una o dos plantas, y que mantiene la estructura arquitectónica de origen medieval.

El caserío surgió en el siglo XII, en torno a una antigua fortaleza musulmana, de la que queda en pie parte del castillo , remodelado en el siglo XV, y del que se conservan parte de los muros de mampostería, que actuaban como murallas y como muros de contención, adaptándose a la topografía del terreno. Se trata de un tipo de fortificación de origen árabe de irregulares y complejas plantas, en el que destaca la desmochada torre del homenaje, con planta pentagonal irregular, presidiendo un inigualable paisaje de viñedos, olivos, robledales, retamas y escobones. A su lado encontramos la iglesia de San Juan Bautista, edificio de una nave con cabecera cuadrada, se construyó en el siglo XVI.
Interesante es la granítica torre-espadaña anexa a la iglesia y que sería parte de las defensas del castillo: muestra un escudo, posiblemente de uno de los comendadores de la fortaleza, y se elevaría sobre un torreón precedente.

En los alrededores se conservan varias tumbas antropomórficas de origen medieval excavadas en la roca. También han sido encontrados restos prehistóricos, como ídolos de la Edad de Bronce.

A lovely old scene. A bit overexposed so I would make it a bit darker, but the old details and view are good.

I am surprised so few people have appreciated how good this shot is. The composition is wonderful and I love the lighting. It has fabulous depth beyond the top structure. The rocks in the foreground lead your eye right into the shot. The soft muted colors suit the subject perfectly and the detail is excellent. It has a medieval feel to it. I think it's great.
