Looking Up from a Dry Creek.

Pawnee Buttes Trail
Pawnee National Grassland
near Keota Colorado.

If you have seen my previous post you should be able to spot this point of view from that image. This was a shot from the from a dry creek bed the trail crosses through on its way down between the bluffs that frame my previous image.

I remember thinking how ironic this was that I was taking this shot standing in a dry creek .. while typically my photographic efforts in this season mostly involve finding all the fast rushing water possible as it melts and comes down the Rockies. .. you folks have changed me .. thanks .. not that I won't be up in the rivers before too long (hopefully) ..

Hi John,

Wonderful shot, I love the colors here, the sky especially. I would like it better if the hill wasn't so centered, but it still works well like this. Nice job, thanks for sharing!

Hello John,
Unusual texture of the mountain. A lot of hard soil or dry mud ... maybe similar soil composition as the Badlands of South Dakota? Anyway, I like this POV. It gives an idea of where you were on the trail relative to the view. Nice blue sky & clouds. Regards. Latiff.

Hi John,
A magnficent landscape here!
I like very much your POV and the colour saturation of the image.
Very good the composition made.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Congratulations.

Hi Joh, the place looks amazing. I like the rock formation and the desert kind vegetaion. But the sky to me is not good. I love blue polarized skies, but in your photo it looks add by photo edition. Look close the mountain silhuete, it seem the original sky was cut out and that one added.

Besides that, the sky alone is suberb.
Regards

Andre
:) tomorrow

Lovely image from a low POV. The sky is wonderful and you have managed a kind of 3D look. Well done

Hi John,
Wonderful contrast between the exceptional blue sky and the dry brown sand. Excellent colors and fine details to this arid landscape.
Regards, Tom

Hello John,
Very good job of showing us the "other" Colorado. You did an excellent job of composing this scene and the colors are captured to perfection. Well done!

Hey, John,
I love these western shots of yours. They are places I have always wanted to go and your photos make me wish to even more. The color and light and the majesty of those mountains is awesome. I like the way you shot looking so straight up. Wow. Great job!! Kind regards,
Shelly

Hi John,
Bon cadrage serré sur cette montagne de "terre" qui donne envie d'escalater et d'admirer le paysage de la haut meme si l'on a déjà un aperçu sur la photo précédente, le ciel est superbe

Hello John
The peak looks like made of of dried mud, rather than rocks, looking at the texture. This is very dry terrain indeed! I like your low POV which provides the lovely contrast with the blue sky, whist your inclusion of the bushes in the FG does provide the sense of depth. Well done!
Take care
Angshu

Hi John,
looking at this photo, I feel that I am almost there, watching the beautiful sky. It is so clear and sharp. Without dispute, your point of view is good enough and the clouds seem to pass over the peaks. Well done! Regards,
Athanasios.

Hello John! Your composition is very striking and what interesting light you had that day. The geology of this area looks fascinating. I think looking up like you did really emphasizes the great shape of the bluffs.

Well done!
Doug
