Photographer’s Note
Snow storms had been forecast on this day .I had been to a friends and was returning home.I often pass this old barn ,but this day i was amazed ,as sheep were making their way off the moor and taking cover behind the drystone walls .The farmer also had been putting feed out for them .But sheep and cattle know when to take cover from the elements ,and some people think they are stupid .(more like fellas with cameras....lol)
As i was taking this shot hail and sleet started to fall(as if to prove the point.!!!!).I hope you enjoy this view as much as i do

Know the place well, nice sharp picture of it - actually a bit too sharp - along the horizon you've got a rather eye-catching contrast line which looks a bit un-natural.
You can avoid this by sharpening the forground selectively.
This creates a feeling of depth in your picture as you would see if you were there.
An alternative method is simply run a light blur brush along the horizon line (the trees are a bit scratchy too in this one)

Hi Ollie,I love scenes like this,a bleak moorland with great detail picked out in the stone walls and the sheep. The grey sky is so typical;and the other colours are beautiful.
TFS, regards Jean.

Hi Ollie,
I love the atmosphere in this shot, you can feel the bad weather on the way! I like the composition and the level of detail is excellent.
Best regards,
Paul.

Hi,
Lots of texture and detail here. Lots going on. This would make a good panoramic shot as well I think if you cropped the bright bit of sky off nd lowered the horizon a touch. You'll have to go back in better weather! Nice one,
Dougie.

Hi Ollie,
Great landscape. Good use of lines through the picture with a very drematic sky. Well done!

Hi Andy
Yet again another nice shot, this photograph looks much like a scene what an artist would choose to paint, your notes describe the scene beautifully, the textures and colours give a real feeling to this shot, TFS.

Hi Ollie,
I love the combination of the ruins .. the leafless trees .. the burnt Earth tones .. they work so well together .. the all amplify each other . I love the light on the ground ..
this might be one where I think about working with a raw file or even layering raw files set to different EVs to darken the sky a bit ... at least reign in the hot spots ... or even a "neo panoramic" crop that just slices them out .. wonderful image though! hope you are doing well.
take care,
John
