Photographer’s Note

Lyttelton is a small port village (suburb) of Christchurch, New Zealand. It has been an important harbour for many years. So important that the New Zealand Armed Forces built a large gun battery at the entrance to the harbour, to protect valuable fuel supplies from Japanese attack in WWII.
This pub is located on the first road up from the docks and I can imagine thirsty sailors making this a first stop after a stint at sea.
