Photographer’s Note

At the north side of this famous cemetery, there are scattered a number of monuments dedicated to the holocaust victims, alongside heroes of the French Resistance. This one captured my eye for its lightness of structure and expressive figure. A man stretching towards the heavens as if he is trying to escape from the brutality of war and fratricide.

Une photo qu'on pourrait croire tout droit sortie du film "Les noces funèbres". De belles couleurs, une élégante composition morbido-burlesque, en décalage avec le sujet réel de la photo, qui lui, ne prête pas à rire du tout! Bien réalisé. Marine
