While I walked to school early in the morning at about 7AM, I saw this snail walking so slow on the edge of the street. Luckily, I had my camera with me in the bag, and I pull it out and shooted it. The most interesting thing that attracts my attention is the trace. Hope you like it too.

Great panning shot......only joking,But after I failed with this technique I should try with snails,too....
You placed the snail perfect and composed well with the diagonal of the wet parts of it`s track. The texture of the street looks good, too.

I like this simple photo of the snail. The broken track looks almost like it's meant to be. The shallow DOF is awesome. Great colors as well. I am starting to really like this lens.

This is a fantastic capture. the tracks the snail left are hillarious- it almost looks like animation or cartoon. Good choice to place the snail off center.

Great catch! I've never actually seen a snail that leaves such a well marked trail behind him. Excellent compo with the diagonal line. I really like it.

This is very sweet! It pays to look around and keep our eyes open. The texture of the street makes a great backdrop to this cute snail. I love the dotted path that he is leaving behind...we can see where he has been, and then follow where he is going. :-)

Bella la scia ed il controllo della messa a fuoco.
Forse migliorabile la composizione.

This trace on the ground is strange and give an interesting and humoristic picture.

A lovely shot... we all leave our traces, one way or another... but this snail's is a peculiar one. Well seen, Sothy, a really interesting and graphic shot in its beauiful minimalism.

Wonderful macro ... I think you are right the trail is the best part .. the relationship of the shell to the texture of the background is great as well.

This is a great shot! I like the way you captured this snail leaving its trace, in a diagonal line. Great composition!
chaity (1539) 2007-05-14 3:16
Hi Sothy, a very nice and simple photo with great impact. It must be painfully slow for the snail to go that far and I hope you are not late for school.
branley (3681) 2007-05-25 3:46
this is so simple, so minimalistic yet so effective, especially having it on the diagonal. I like the cropping in the WS, though one of his antenna is out of the frame. A really arty capture my friend, well done.
coco (30439) 2007-06-16 6:14
Very funny this picture with the snail and its "steps".
Good composition and idea.
marknunnerley (2780) 2007-07-05 5:21
That's funny Sothy, I have never seen a snail trace like this. It's usually that horrible silvery yuck! Worth posting and gave me a smile.

Thanks for your kind words, Sothy.
How this little creature can depict such an appealing tableau!: It drew a nice diagonal in front of you for a nicer setup within the crop.
You took with a shallow d.o.f. the scenery for easier concentration on the "moving house".
Many compliments for this piece of art!
kasianowak (9221) 2012-09-08 4:47
I like everything about it - the diagonal trail, the DOF, the way you placed the main subject in the image.
