Photographer’s Note
Manikaran is a small village up in Himalaya. 4 September it was a sort Hindu holiday in the village but, as it often happens in rural India, people from different cultures and beliefs come out on the streats and celebrate together. This is a bright and friendly crowd. People put on their best (often it also means brightest) clothes and are happy to pose for a photographer.
