Church in the Mountains Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is an old church located in the Slovene Alps, near Bovec. It was initially built for the farmers that live high in the surrounding mountains, but now is visited mostly by day hikers. It was rebuilt after it was detroyed by a fire in the early 1900's. It is also accesible by road. A lovely day hike or picnic!

Hello carolyne,You've here a nice composition with interesting light and cloudy sky. the framing is perfect. Only one regret, it is a little bit over exposed, specially on the church wall.
Anyway it doesn't matter, I really appreciate it.

Nice composition with this heavy & strange atmosphere provides by those dark clouds.
And the colours of the church are nice too.

Dear Carolyne,
To be good in photography, all it takes is a deeper concern about your subject. It is like painting; give it colors, right or desired amount light and shadow to express itself and something to direct attention to it, you have a good photo. And just like everybody else who are making money or name from this hobby/profession, study from the bad ones. As you get older in photography and has run more miles, you know which ones you did, are bad photos but wonderful teachers. What you have here, is the better ones. Cloud works are dramatic and the side lighting of the church,exposing well.

This is an excellent architectural photograph with very dramatic lighting. I especially like the storm clouds and the Sunlight breaking through them and the layers of mountains in the distance. Well done!
