This one will really be the last in which Sagres appears for this cruise, framed inside the rigging of Belem. The ship is now very distant in the background, and it is also the case for the other tall ships around us, which I will post tomorrow to finally close that mini-serie inside the travelogue, devoted to the departure from Sail Amsterdam 1990. Now, it is just the end of a beautifull afternoon, with some good opportunities for pictures (at least for those who like sailing ships). Afterwards, there will be just the sea and us...

From information, the sail in the foreground is the main sail: there is even a marking in the corner which I did not notice before "GV" = "Grand Voile" (main sail).

Bonjour Emile,

Daniel.

Hi Emmanuel,
It's a beautiful series with the tall ships. I like how you framed the Sagres II here. This photo gives the feeling you're sailingb yourself where on the other photo's someone else was sailing.
This one is very well composed from a good POV and has some good light and natural colors.
Well done,
Harko

Hello Emmanuel,
You composed this photo like a master. Usually all of the ropes and bottom of the sail in the foreground would have been too much compositional clutter, but it frames the Sagres perfectly. The two round pullies on the right compensate for the busy ropes on the left and balance out the image. Your technical skills at maintaining excellent Depth-of-Field and a level horizon from a ship at sea are outstanding. This is and excellent, almost abstract study of maritime life. Superb!
Stan

Perfect framing, composition and exposure Emmanuel. Nice work.

bonsoir Emmanuel
superbe ! le bateau s'éloigne mais la composition ne manque pas d'intérêt ! quant à la qualité technique je vais dire pareil que Harko..
amitiés
jo

Beautiful composition ! Magic light !
Well done !

Salut Emmanuel, belle vue de Sagre qui s'éloigne, un bon POV avec le point d'écoute tribord de grand voile du Belem. Amitiés.
Gilbert

Bonjour Emmanuel
You've done wonders with the framing here. The framing ropes are very complex. given their number, but you've done so wonderfully. The majestic Sagres & the choppy waters in the FG looks wonderful

Angshu

Hello Emmanuel,
I really love this, great POV you had looking though all the lines towards this beautiful sailing ship. Great color and sharp focus. TFS
