Photographer’s Note
Visiting Spain last year we had to visit Alhambra, the former Moorish capitol that was ignored for many years but eventually recognized by the Spanish for its amazing architecture and stunning features. This portion of the old main house was never finished.
It was originally going to be a single level rotunda, around 950 AD, was converted to two and later three stories after 1000 AD, but a roof was never finished and it has been left open to the elements. It is in amazingly good condition and has many individual elements, like this one, adding to its beauty. I hope to post one from the rose garden (originally a vegetable garden) this week.

Are you sure you have your info right?
To me this looks like the palace build by Charles V in the Alhambra complex after the reconquista. It was designed 1528, construction began 1533 but was never finished. The rotunda was always meant to be a coutyard it was never to be covered with a roof. In fact this building has nothing to do with the _real_ Alhambra.
