Photographer’s Note

I tried this one "duplicating" the chariot placed atop the columns (especially after a few beers...), rather than a "classic" shot of the Brandenburger Gate in Berlin.

The chariot is the "Quadriga" sculpture, which Napoleon took to Paris in 1806, it was later returned in 1814.

The Brandenburger Gate is the only surviving one of 18 city gates.

During the Cold War it remained in East Berlin, although access was forbidden due to its proximity to the Wall, so it was practically "no man's land".
