Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in Muskoka, about 2 hours north Toronto. We had gone up to a friends cottage for the Victoria Day long weekend. This photo is of their boathouse, taken from the cottage deck.
You will know that you have arrived in Muskoka when you see the rocky granite of the Canadian Shield, and white pines and birch trees rising up along side of the highway.
If you ever visited Muskoka, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of over 1,600 lakes,
numerous sparkling rivers, picturesque waterfalls, and impressive hardwood forests providing nature with a spectacular canvass of fall colours that you will never forget.
Muskoka focuses the mind, clears your vision, and excites your spirit.

This instantly looks to me like a perfect spot to find peace and serenity, and having read your note I found confirmation ;-) A beautiful natural capture, Pamela, with the boathouse well placed in the frame, and a beautiful view opening up towards the lake in between the trees in the foreground. I like the way in which the sunlight accentuates the ripples on the water surface. Very nice.

Beautiful. Reminds me very much of a couple of lakeside cottages visited with friends when I spent some months in Canada in 1973. In those days I didn't bring a camera, and just as well I guess, because this is what I remember, but what I would have photographed then was probably the pretty girls and the six-packs that kept us going. I feel like going back now - with a camera.

A real, peaceful picture with excellent color and clarity. Well done. You have inherited your mother's talent!
