A church under the sky... Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a church in the center of Knjazevac, eastern Serbia, whose name I don't know. I was surprised to see such a baroque church in these parts of Serbia - this style is more characteristic of Vojvodina, to the north of Belgarde... or maybe it's a new church intentionally built to look an old one? I don't know.
Anyway, I liked the view to it, with this beautiful sky as a background...

And it looks as if divine sunrays from heaven shed their light on the church. Very nice picture detailing a Serbian village. I like the composition with the old church, the small houses with the small shops, the cars and the road disappearing behind the church. The contrast with the gorgeous sky is clearly shown. Excellent!

Hi,
I really like the idea and the concept of the rays of light on the church. You might want to consider spending more time in photoshop to perfect your technique. The halo around the buildings and in the tree on the left gives all your secrets away, and shows the viewer what the sky really looked like.

Fotografija je odlična, možda si mogao kropovati do automobilima, strasno me nerviraju i na mojim fotografijama, a i ove nase politicke kampanje i bilbordi!

i think this was good idea in its start. But I also think too much postprocessing kind of ruined it, because there's that light that appears around the church bell. Still, as this is sacral object, it may be advantage!
But anyway, i think slightly less postprocessing would make it a bit better.
But very good photo, informative note, nice capture of everyday's life in small and pretty town as Knjazevac is.

It's a beautiful church. I'm not against the post processing, so I think that is a great shot. The sky is electric and there is a symbolism in the halo around the church tower. It looks like an icon. We could find symbolism in the rays too. For example we can consider them the connection to God.

Hi Jonko,

Beautifully taken,especially sky and clouds' colours go nicely with the the church. I guess without the upper part of the pic this simple city streat would not have such an effect.
