Photographer’s Note

This bold little character saw me taking photographs in the garden and decided to come and investigate, dive bombing me on the way. The first time he teased me by sitting on the pole until I was just about to press the shutter, and then flew off. I was determined though, and patience paid off as he came back round to pose a second time. I don't know what has happened to the feathers on his head, but I wouldn't have put it past him to have had them shaved off just to look more menacing!

He looks kinda evil indeed, but also a bit sad if you look into his eyes. Very nice photo anyhow, the detail is astonishing! Great colours as well...

That is a great shot. Whether this bird is menacing or a daft robin vulture, he is a very interesting subject. I am glad that you perservered and got the picture.

Nice photo and very funny note. I am glad you were able to take the photo and thanks for sharing this with us. Excellent detail of the little bird. Good control of the foreground and excellent colors in the blured background. I love the feather left on the peak! Good job!

Robins are very territorial, which can lead to a fight to the death. He looks like he's come off second best in a recent battle.

A feel pity for this bird.. doesn't look too good. Hope he is well know:)
For the photo, the compo is very good and the DOF is brilliant making the bird stand out so nice.. but looks so sad! :(
