Photographer’s Note
Combe Gibbet gets its name from the gibbet poles that used to stand on top of the hill. The current pole is a replica but gives one a chilly reminder of what it must have felt like to be hung up in a cage and left to rot away for your sins...
Anyway, I saw the potential for a silhouette shot with the sinking sun in the background. The surrounding views from the hill top were slightly hazy that evening, but the combination of the morbidity (sic) of Man and the beauty of Nature proved an interesting subject.
The only touch-up I did was to darken the contrast slightly to ensure the full silhouette look.
