Lost in Venice Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture is not straight because the only support I could find for the camera was the bridge which was not straight.

Venice is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, but only at night. The day is quite pretty too, but a little bit too gray for my taste. :)

great capture! The moon and the clouds combined with the city lights make for a beautiful composition. The angle of the pictures adds a bit of uniqueness and intrigue. Nicely done.

I also love your title. I can relate to being lost in Venice...it is easy to do! LOL

Very impressive, Anu,
the angle only adds to feeling of beeing lost (maybe because of having too much Italian wine:-)...)
exposure is very unusual: even the clouds are very developed.
Can you tell how technically you did it?

It's a nice pic' though tilted unwillingly. Anyway i think the titlt suits well the scene as Venice is a city endangerd by flood (water level going up)...it's like a decline/ decadence symbolism (to me). I also like a lot the moon and clouds sharpness. Well done! Now, i think the lamp posts' lights are too prominents. I guess you did not have the choice because of long exposure, right?

Absolutely dramatic, Anu
The full moon above the clouds give a dramatic touch to the image. Beautiful canal atmosphere of Venice is a great setting for your shot. It give the mood of 'The Warewolf in...Venice'.

Your note telling us the reason why the picture is not straight, reminded me my lover when he had tripod... so I can imagine you...

Anyway marvellous picture and before reading your note I didn't thought it wasn't not on purpose you've posted a not straight picture.

sorry if I don't give you technical advices ou comments but I am still an amateur so just what I feel in front a picture leads me to comment it.

Wonderful shot from Venice. I always wanted to see this beautiful city but never had the opportunity. Fantastic evening atmosphere you captured here. Good intense colors and 'curious' POV.
Two advices if I may which came into my mind looking at your photo:
The moon looks good but lights at the street draw too much attention, you could use 'star filter' which gives effect of stars wherever are points of light, like lanterns.
About long exposure - it looks great but you could try perpendicular shot as well - river, boats, moon and maybe building on the left. It's always good to have few different shots of one place.
I hope you don't mind these advices :)
