Every 2 hours that wave comes around and you hope not to miss it. I have been sitting on the rock for a long time and like everything just when you want to stretch your legs or a cloud comes over and blocks the sun your subjet is in sight. It never fails!

whatever those conditions of shooting, clouds, lack of sun,etc... you got a stunning photo! how come this big wave does not cover the piece of rock you were standing on?? it seems like you are almost inside the wave... stunning!! congrats for your patience.. it paid off!

Very nice shot. Great colours and DoF. I like it a lot! Well done!

Great shot. You have frozen the wave very well - and what a wave, great shape.
I'm guessing you had a long telephoto to avoid geting wet ?

Very good, it is indeed a great day, you managed to capture the wave exactly on the right moment, very impressive picture.

I would very much like to see that for myself once!!
Stunning picture, and like Eric says, your patience paid off. You really froze the water. Great DOF.

Wonderful catch of this wave ! It´s amazing !
I like the colours and the rocks blured.
Very weel done !

Your wave shots are spectacular Richard. Once again you've timed it perfectly and frozen the water to exactly the right degree. The curl on the wave is wonderful.

Great one. Very spectacular sight; I hope you don't risk too much just for a picture (even if it is such a great one like this one). Good work.

Impressive capture! I love the shape, the grace and the power of the wave. All those qualities are shown in you capture. Great timing and focus.
Great work!

when look this, it brings back memory when i saw tsunami at flores island (earth quake bang with 9,3 sc). I made the WS hope u like it.

Fantastic capture of this huge wave. It shows us the power of these fantastic natural force of the sea and this shot is well done by a good time of exposure. Very beautiful.

Eye of the storm, great capture.

Great work here, the wave is at its best here, the foreground is blurred which is great, good detail too

Well done

Great shot! I love that aqua colour that shows the light through the water. Too bad you did not have a blue sky to bring out the droplets on top.

Nevertheless a great shot even with the cloud cover. Great stop action and DOF with the blurred rocks in the foreground. Excellent post Richard.

Magnificent seascape & great choice of shutter speed.

Tres impressionnant , la vague est vraiment enorme et la photo tres spectaculaire , bon cadrage .

Brilliant angle, you have captured the curls. Good exposure and DOF, worthing the while

A Great Water and A Great Photo

Alors finalement , j'ai regardé toutes les photos des vagues. non ce n'est pas toujours la même chose. Aussi cette photo est ma préférée pour l'enroulement de la vague qui semble s'envoler vers le ciel. bravo et merci pour toutes ces photos.

Excellent moment and shot. Well done.

Amazing picture! I took a look at your photographs and you have more amazing pictures of those giant waves, and you are getting better and better! This one is a combination of luck, patience and good photographic skills! Well done!

Absolutely amazing... Really good!!! The best of the pic is the eye of the wave... it's really well focus and good definition. Also the eye is in the center of the pic...

WOW Richard! Wonderful capture of that wave...your passion towards surfing shows in your picture too! TFS. Vandana

This photo captures natures raw power perfectly. I love the fact that you shot it just as the back wash came back t the wave and has created the "fan" effect above it.

Perfect Photo,
Realy i like so much, everything is good, colors, composition and light.
Super

A GREAT PICTURE IN A GREAT DAY

Photographers never give up. Persistence is a photographic virtue. This make of yours Richard, is worth the wait and interuption. U could sense the violence, pent up energy of the rolling wave. The spiralling pattern and the light green tone; the detail of the wave.

Wonderful!!
and terrible, I am full of fear looking at these huge waves.
You are great in capturing waves!!!

Livia

p.s. - are you rich or what? Just throwing away cameras into the suds... only being facetious - superb work, in what I think, must be YOUR genre... regardes, c
