Photographer’s Note

A look at a typical winter's day on Great Lake Superior. The ice you see on the shore in the foreground apparently broke off the other side of the lake and floated across. This was not there the previous day, the waves just broke it up and built what must have been a 10 foot wall of ice on the coast (not in the picture). I liked the birds in the foreground, they gave the picture a darker almost hitchcockian feel. Brought up white levels, added depth to the shadows and very modestly applied a soft filter effect. I also tried a B&W conversion but something about the subtle colors I seemed to like better. Hope you like it.
