Capturing these amazing balloons as they lift off during the Mansfield Balloon Festival meant rising BEFORE the sun on a frosty Autumn morning and arriving at the launch site in the dark hoping to catch an awesome spectacle.

the idea is geat, the shot is good, against the sun, the pov is fantastic, the quality is nice but there is some pixel damage, but I like the very good photo job here, well done.

Yo Steve and Ioana!

This is a beautiful photo. Full with amazing pre-dawn colours and lovely bulbous subjects. I like how the sun appears to be lighting all objects that lay in it's path...

Nice work

Hi Steve (or Ioana... or both of you! :D)

wow, terrific light and colors! :-)
the dark blue sky with the first sunlight
shining through the balloons, making them glow is really great.
there is just a slight noise visible, maybe from scanning?
thanks 4 getting up early & take care, thorsten.

Nice, love the bright colors and the sky. well done. TFS

Hi Steve&Ioana, good view of the ballons with an amazing light and good colours.
just a little bit too dark on the foreground.
thanks, ciao

Great capture! Beautiful colors surrounding these baloons as they ready to take off. I like that you included the one on the side as well, although it doesn't have much color, but the rounded shape adds to the overall image. I like the back-lit color of the baloons. Well doen.

Great shot. A bit of Neat image and "l'affaire serait tiguidou"!

I like how you framed three balloons. I find an uneven number often looks better for some reason.

MeAT :)

Hi Steve and Ioana,
Backlight works on this one just beautifully. I like bout reflecting light on the left balloon and luminosity of the other two where the light goes through them. Strong contrasty shot.

Very nice! And I though my before dawn ventures paid off...

Tremendous lighting and colours in this shot, guys!

Also very well composed and nicely finished off with the dark frame.

It must have been worth the cold, early start to the day when you know you've come away with some great photos like this!

Well done and best regards from England,

Rich

The use of the 3 baloons and the very special light on the subjects results in a most attractive result. Perfect depth and use of the compowise diagonal. the deep saturated colours also good for this compo. Maybe some noise reduction could have worked as well here..

Hi Steve,

All I can say is amazing.

Cheers Jamie.
