This photo of Awalua Beach on Lanai's northern shore was taken nearing sunset. The island in the distance is Molokai.

In this repost, I went back to the original file and resized it so it would be the maximum size allowed by TE. Before I did that though, I tilted the horizon 1.6 degrees CW to straighten the horizon. I also did "auto levels," all in photoshop.

Hi, a nice scene with beautiful colours. a good composition, sharp and clear

nice subject with lots of interesting features. good focus and nice colors.

NIce shot. Very calming. The wood is a bit overexposed here.

Hi Anne

The driftwood in the fg looks like an abstract cow, grazing on the beach. I like the rusted shipwreck in the bg. Good color & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Anney!
Don't worry about the horizon - the rest is all good! If you get the chance, try playing with Neat Image (noise reduction software) - it's really amazing what it does!
Best wishes & TFS,
Jeff

I like the placement of the driftwood, the blur odf the waves makes a nice balance to the sharpness of everything else, a refreshingly different beach shot of Hawaii, one without crystal blue seas, yachts, and coconut palms.

Hi Anne
Very nice mix of colors and beautiful light, especially on foreground.

Hi Anne,

I do like the repost of this image from the original. Is that really a derelict ship? Anyway, the driftwood provides great near far relationship, with diagonal aspect of the beach and the surf, providing a bright edge into the picture, makes for a real eye teaser. Very nice.

Thanks
Dana

Very good composition with the old eroded stump on the beach. Colors are very nice, though I think perhaps a bit over saturated, but overall still a lovely photo. TFS

Hi Anne,
Lovely beach landscape the angry surf pounding the deserted beach as it churns the brown sand to contrast with the blue water and white surf. The lush green trees contrast nicely with the blue ocean and the intricate drift wood and ship wreck add wonderful elements to this beautiful composition.
Regards, Tom
