Some more insights of the Caporales:
The Caporales were the foremen of the black slaves in Bolivia. There is a small Afro-Bolivian community, descendants of those times, in the high valleys of the Yungas province of La Paz.
La Saya, is the rhythm that originated the current rhythm of the caporales, if you have chance to hear the original Saya you’ll find it very different from what it has become nowadays, but both versions will make you feel like dancing
