It’s time to get back to the shipyards…
This is an image of an old ferry (car-transport model) that used to make the crossing between Cacilhas and Lisbon, and very well known in Portugal as a “Cacilheiro”.
Nowadays it’s moored in one of the Seixal Bay shipyards, and even if I don’t know it’s destiny I wouldn’t be surprised that it would be dismantled.
Still, as it is a ship from the mid 1930’s, and a symbolic model of this ferry line it may just be there for repair as some other twin models still operate daily nowadays. I hope so, because everybody who has traveled daily in these ships became to be attached to them and it’s always sad to see them destroyed. |
