Photographer’s Note

Middle XVII century, Diogo Carvalho de Fontoura ordered the building of a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem (Our Lady of Boa Viagem). it's located at the top of Boa Viagem Island in Niterói.
The building is about to be retored.

Oi Celso, boa documetacao de um pedacinho de historia colonial na Baia de Guanabara. Eu nao conhecia e concordo que realmente necessita de uma boa restaurao. Faltou um pouco o elemento humano. Desta forma da a impressao de abandono total.

Outra bela tomada de mais um prédio histórico de Niterói. essa cidade possui muitas belezas que são pouco exploradas no meu ver, acho que ela acaba ficando um pouco ocultada pelo Rio. Você sabe como é o turismo em Niterói?

It would be interesting to return after the restoration for a comparison shot. I like the way you composed the image with the tree framing the top left. You have captured the strong blue of the sky beautifully and plenty of detail in the peeling plaster.
