On a trip to Nova Scotia last year, we visited Fortress Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island. Although it was summertime, it was quite windy and cold that day, and a bit foggy.
The structures in the foreground are part of Fortress Louisbourg, an 18th century encampment located at the strategic far eastern tip of the island. Both the French and English fought over, and occupied, the fortress at various times in its history.
The fortress has been restored and now serves as an interactive site, complete with costumed residents, workers and soldiers, period food, cannon and rifle displays, etc.
Barely visible in the distance is the lighthouse at Louisbourg, which wasn't anymore visible when we made our way over to it later in the day, as the fog had thickened considerably.

It would be wonderful to see a wide angle view of this place. It makes me wonder what's to the left & right of the photo. Still a nice image of the architectures of the period. Good notes. Have a nice weekend. Regards. Latiff.
