Photographers Note
when i arrived at the town of mostar, i run to the bridge at full speed. it was so pretty, like a crown over the river. and i couldnt help asking myself: why? why did you destroy it?
footnote: this bridge was destroyed by croat artillery during the war in bosnia, and was rebuilt by a turkish mason/stone cutter, sticking to the original methods, just like his grand grand father built centuries ago. probably he is the last guy still alive who could do it.

Very beautiful place; I'm glad there was someone still able to repair the bridge. It's curious because it seems somewhat steep to the top (at least from the photo where it appears arched), but also quite fragile. The clarity is great and so are the colors, particularly the light color of the stone bridge against the dramatic blue of the river and the green trees. Congratulations on a great photo!

Merhaba Mustafa,

I never tire of photos of this bridge, even though I see so many on trek earth and have been there myself. It is a timeless place and is probably the best piece of arctectural restoration, true to detail, that i have seen on this planet
great photo

Hi, Mustafa! I've been to this precious town in 1982, before the criminal war. I went to the other side of the original bridge and thought: "Here two different worlds melt, produce life together...". It was just a dream, now I know. Anyway, the Neretva is the same beautiful river and my heart beats hard seeing this unforgettable place here. "Hvala"! Greetings from Rio! Miguel.

You made a fine compo here mustafa, presenting this bridge and symbol of the crazyness of wars in a well disposed presentation. Good choice by including the foreground green grass, also the square format seems a good choice here

Merhaba Mustafa,
glad that this was rebuilt so you were able to show us this beauty. Good composition with the bushes left followed by the city but more following the river through the bridge. You had a great challenge with the light but well done, may be two hours later that day would have been better.

Hi Mustafa, this could be a cover on a travel brochure. Very nicely done. Yes, it is very sad that so many buildings, bridges and structures are destroyed in warring effort. I am glad to see that there was excellent restoration. Good work.

HI Mustafa!
I asked myself the same question, why do people here on Balkans know only to make war and destroy such beauty that lasted centuries...I really like this clear well composed shot with excellent details and colors,I wish to see it myself one day...
Ps. That was me "kinda" joking about serbian girls!
They are pretty, but not prettiest in the world :)

Hello Mustafa,
Nice depth of field and of course a nice subject. I wish i would have the chance to go BIH one day. To comment on your note, I once had an art history professor that emphasized that when people go to war, architecture is a powerful symbol and identity to people and are targets of destruction by the antagonist. This inflicts on their morale and it is very true.
In praise for peace.

This is a wonderfully crafted shot. The composition is superb with all the elements pulling together to compliment each other. Wonderful.
