After the Rain Photo

Photographer’s Note

The backyard of a children's home (orphanage) in a small Romanian village. The rain had just ceased and the heavy clouds were rolling away to reveal a beautiful blue sky, and a brilliant sun shining down on the glittering, wet earth.

To me, this is symbolic of the lives of the orphans. They began their lives lost in a great "storm," as babies that nobody wanted. Then they found their way to an orphanage that is run by wonderful people who love them and care about what happens to them. Now these children are bright and happy, enjoying their life with the other children who become almost like brothers and sisters to them.

As I was photographing the wet yard, the children were running outside to play. This was the last picture I snapped before the yard was filled with running, laughing children.

An important message for your 100th post Erin, I like the idea and join it well, compliments.
About the image it's a little dark and have feeeling of solitude, but in this theme this is right, well done.

the shot is not easy with the light, but I think you handled it very well here, a good point of view and a fine quality, good photo job here.

Good shot of this place. It's nice that we can see both the weather that just has passed and the coming weather, not only because of the pools, but also the part of that dark cloud you included in the upper left hand corner. The composition with the trees is good too. Well done!
