Photographer’s Note
I was driving on Highway 49 near Mariposa, California when I saw this lone oak tree sitting on a small hill with the darkening sky behind it. I hadn't even seen the moon until I jumped out of my truck and grabbed my camera and tripod. The rich blues really struck me and I was happy with the simplicity of this shot. I only wish I had captured the moon in a larger phase.
