City Hall - New York City Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is City Hall here in New York City. It is located in lower Manhattan, and first opened in 1812. The exterior is in the French Renaissance style and the interior is American-Georgian.

The very first city hall in NYC was built by the Dutch in the 17th century, back when the city was called New Amsterdam. There are no remnants of that building today, but many hints of our Dutch history still remain in southern Manhattan.

Hola Brenda,
a pesar del día gris, has captado con buen encuadre la elegancia de este edificio, donde podemos encontrar a Michael Bloomberg.
Hay un buen contraste y unos colores de tonos muy suaves que dan un buen resultado en la imagen.
Me gusta el efecto que crean los árboles desnudos y la estatua que está a un lado, y también el pequeño vehículo de la NYPD.

Hi Brenda,
A very nice architectural shot. You would not be able to get this kind of a shot, showing all of the building, in the summer. Very sharp, with good detail, and a good POV. You do your city proud.

Aunque el cielo no colabora mucho, pienso que has captado con tu lente un lindo paisaje, lleno de detalles. Los arboles secos ejercen dentro de la composición un gran acompañamiento al edificio del fondo, dejando entrever una maginifca obra arquitectónica. Felicidades.

Thanks for write into my photo yesterday...This photo have a good pov, I like the foreground withered trees, it make this place and image rich in poetic flavor, interesting story about the old architecture, I can see the flag of France, the sky is white may be related to the weather and season, but still acquired a distinct image, well done.

First of all, congratulations for creating such a wonderful gallery of shots! Anybody who wants to visit NY should see your gallery, and decide the places to visit. Beautifully done.
I like this shot the most because though its in color, it has a tone of b/w which is remarkable. The quality is also very nice, very sharp.
