Interesting diagonal sweeping light effect against the austere verticality of the columns. The names really come out very strongly and document the subject perfectly. The fact that the right column spells white is a nice touch with only black and white in the picture.

Chris,
(Enjoying a little scroll through your gallery)
I really like this shot partly, I think, because its physical dimension is somewhat unfathomable, confusing and obscure. The play of light is great, as is the effect of some of the names almost be "rubbed out": "lest we forget" - of course, we have forgotten, for no-one could recall 20,000 names and, as we know, that's just the tip of the iceberg in any event.
Great shot.
Best regards
Colin
