Photographer’s Note
Famous Mitre Peak at Milford Sound, is 1692 m and one of the highest mountains in the world that rise directly from the ocean floor. It is the landmark of Milford Sound. The beauty of New Zealand's west coast fjords is indescribable. The mix of rainforest, mountains, fjords and sounds make this area a unique place in the world.

Very dramatic scene. I might have preferred a tad higher POV so that the foreground doesn't dominate the shot quite so much, but it still works nicely. TFS!

Hi Christian. I see that you have been lucky with the weather! this is a much photographed icon and I see you have tried a different viewpoint. Not sure if it works but full marks for trying something different.

Hello Christian,
what an imposing view of the Mitre Peak rising from that beautiful fjord.
Good idea to have integrated the plants in the foreground. That's an excellent reminder of the surrounding tropical forest.
Friendly greetings
Henry

Nicely framed with the flax... a different view of Mitre Peak from the normal :tourist: shots. You:re also very fortunate to have seen the peak without clouds... yay :-)

Hello Christian,
you know, this photo reminds me on the Swiss mountain "Matterhorn". It has the same structure!

Hi Christian. I like this picture very much especially your viewpoint through the plant. It is almost as if the viewer has suddenly discovered this place for themself.
