Photographer’s Note

Perhaps, the landscape of this picture can be called a typical landscape of the Sinai desert. Mountain chains which seem to have no end and a large amount of sand between the chains are basically the only two things that make up the Sinai desert. The further you go away from civilization (which is represented by roads and strange-looking small buildings left here of the war with Israel back in the 70s, 80s), the more lonely you start to feel.
This photo was taken near the Colour Canyon which is believed to have been part of the Red Sea bottom about 2 million years ago.
The photo was taken soon after heavy short rain which is quite a rare occasion for any dessert, I guess. Black clouds can still be seen in the sky.
