Photographer’s Note
The southernmost region of Sweden, Scania, is just about sprinkled with castles and churches, historical signs of great wealth.
The first known nobel inhabitant of Näs (Trollenäs) was Tord Thott who lived in the eleventh century. The mansion has however been rebuilt and modified several times since. In 1682 Näs came into the ownership of the Trolle lineage, hence its present name, Trollenäs. The last major modification was made in 1891-93, turning the castle into an example of renaissance architecture.
