| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the flowerpot-shaped rock formation. Picture was taken on Flowerpot Island in Georgian Bay, Huron Lake, and is a part of the Fathom Five National Marine Park of Ontario.
There are two giant rock columns that were created thousands of years ago when the Great lakes were covered by an ancient sea. The constant crashing of waves gradually wore down the limestone cliffs, leaving these distinct shapes as reminders of a time long passed. |
