Wow, John, this is superb. I love the dappled light in the foreground and then the bright light as the eye is drawn in by the trail. The POV is beautiful with the stream coming from that left corner. I have nothing but good things to say about this one. A+ GREAT shot!! Best wishes,

Hi John, the small scenes can be good too. This is composed well. The light filtering down through the trees gives your shot a warm feel. The stream and trees mellow it all out. I like these colours. Your positioning of the bridge with the path leading off to the left works well. I'll bet most people just use the rocks though eh?

Hello John -

Ah, summertime in the Rockies! You are right sometimes we overlook some of the simplest scenes but with digital so we "waste" a bit of memory, it's not like film where once it's exposed it's gone. Not much I can say here except a bit more DOF, i.e. smaller aperture, so everything front to back is in focus. Well done!

Thanks for reminding me spring and summer are just around the corner.

Hi John,
Truly wonderful and kind of moody also. I like very much the pov. Sharpness is a bit strange, specially on the trees of the bg (USM to disguise lack of focus?).
You are right about these "small beautiful intimate places", they can be as nice or even nicer than the more majestic pov's.

This scenne makes me remember a another one from a mountain (National Park of Peneda-Geres) near my home. It's full of creeks and oaks (well, not so much oaks because of the fires).
I like the compo and light but it's missing the foccus, try use the smart sharpen on the PS.

Hi John,
The way you've framed the light slanting throught the trees to highlight the simple beauty of the bridge gives a real sense of being there. I know what you mean, we are struck by the grand vista but sometimes the small detail conveys the feeling of a place better. This may be my favorite of this theme although 'Cluttered Tranquility' and 'Summer Ravine' give stiff competition. Sometimes it just takes a theme to convey the feel of a favorite place. THis is a really cute little bridge. I always love it. Naturally beautiful... makes me feel like I need to enjoy nature more instead of hidding myself at school and take pictures of humans and birds...hahaha... You did well.

Hi John,

a very simple but effective shot of the wooden bridge with the light creeping through on the right. Once crossed the eye leads us away up the track and out of sight. It's not overly sharp but it doesn't really detract from being a really fine capture my friend, well done.

great idea to put someone this piece of wood over of the bourn.Nice the background with all these trees around.I like the light and the shodows.Τhe two trees in right and the corridor in left,that leads to the forest give a stroke in your shot.Well done.
