[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was a tuff shot for me. I had only recently bought my new camera, and was still learning how to use it. This is also from the market in the Thailand/ Myanmar border town of Tachilek. So much of the market is shaded by endless sheets of canvas, that the whole market is very dark. Naturally this poses a problem for photography. And the ISO is high in this shot, the Fujipix doesn’t seem to like 800 ISO, and the original was somewhat blurred. Still this boy was a willing model while I fussed with my new camera.

Technically I don't think this is a very good shot, but I wanted to include it with the previous pic, because Tachilek is an interesting experience, and I felt that this boy really had a compelling expression. I am not quite sure what he was all about, but the market is where so much of the activity is when the tourists are concerned, so the locals converge there also, in search of just a little of that money!

Noise doesn't really bother me much with people shots as I have seen great photos in National Geographic with more grain many times.

This would qualify as a portrait, which of course leads to much better results than candid shots from afar. It is obvious that you interacted with your subject here....and that is a good thing.
