Photographer’s Note

The colourfull waterfront of Portovenere, an old village on the eastern Liguria. The architecture, and the colours and fantastic weather, the excellent food on the small restaurants, the good wines...a pastel paradise!

Image took from the ferry along the Lerici-Cinque Terre line. The image lost something on quality for the optical zoom.

Great colours here Paolo, and you took it in great light.
I think the framing could do with being tightened up a bit though, especially at the bottom where I think a bit less water was needed.
The main problem though is the lack of sharpness, I suppose camera shake due to the movement of the boat could be to blame.

I like this line of colourful houses. The colour of water is a bit unrealistic for me, too blue - is it real? I'd also let more roofs to be seen.

There is also a lack of quality but sespite it's not the sharpest shot of TE, I like it. It's look like a painting.

Indeed a pastel hued village. I like the tight cropping here to focus upon the wall of pleasing facades, with the incredibly exotic waters in the foreground. The palm tree on the right adds that extra dash of natural interest to the scene. Well captured.

As you said the photo has lost a bit of quality and lacks come sharpness but it remains a very colourful composition and this is what, in my opinion, makes this shot. Event the water in the foreground seems to have an unreal turquoise tone. This is really a place that I must visit one day.

i'm no so enthusiastic about this photo...i think this is a sort of a missed opportunity - you found a gorgeous place but you treated it somehow weakly, imo: the cropped (in a strange way) roofs, missing sharpness (maybe a result of wrong compression method?) - i think you have not been careful enough in preparing this image...

I like your pastel village. I see not so big problem in optical zoom (lack of sharpness)but it is a pitty that roofs are not seen all. It will be better composition.
