Photographer’s Note
Everyone has some preconceived ideas of what a country is like before their first visit. And it always makes for fascinating comparison about the discoveries you make and whether it matches the stereotype, particularly on the first few days.
As a travel destination, Paris conjures up all sorts of images of architecture, food, art, people and culture. Amongst the most cliched stereotypes is the idea that all the French carry baguettes with them wherever they go. (Another cliche, particularly in amongst Australians, is that Yoplait is "French for yoghurt"!)
And so it was on my first full day in Paris that I came to realise it was as good as true - baguettes wandering the streets everywhere!
This photo was taken at Place Des Vosges close to the centre of Paris. No postprocessing apart from size reduction.
